		<title>Police to begin OWI crackdown today</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Law enforcement agencies in Wausau and across the state will have a renewed focus for the next few weeks on stopping and arresting drunken drivers.


The &#8220;Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest&#8221; crackdown begins today and will run through Sept. 6.


There were 238 people killed and 3,793 people injured in alcohol-related crashes in 2009 in Wisconsin, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. There were more than 45,000 convictions for drunken driving offenses last year in Wisconsin, the agency reported.

		<title>Traffic deaths in Wisconsin near all-time low in July</title>

The number of traffic deaths on Wisconsin roads is near an all-time low.  The state had a total of 47 fatal crashes resulting in 49 deaths last month.
That&#8217;s the second safest month of July since World War two.  The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says traffic deaths this year are well below the five year average.
And seatbelt usage in the state is at an all time high.

		<title>Outagamie County crash injures 8, mostly youths</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Gannett Wisconsin Media • May 30, 2010





FREEDOM — A late Friday crash in Outagamie County left eight people injured, including four teenagers and two children.


Several of the injuries were serious, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.



Emergency crews needed assistance from two medical helicopters following the crash at about 9:20 p.m. at the intersection of Outagamie Counties E and N.
A van traveling north on County N failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a sport utility vehicle heading west on County E, according to the State Patrol.
